Anglicare Australia is a diverse network of 36 independent, faith based social service organisations across the country which works towards the creation of a just and caring society. In all, over 12,000 staff and almost 7,800 volunteers work with over 930,000 vulnerable Australians every year.

The Anglicare Australia national office supports and coordinates the joint social policy, research and advocacy activities of the network.

About the role
Anglicare Australia is a leading national voice for social change, advocating for the people our member organisations support.

The National Policy and Research Director is responsible for providing strategic advice on social and economic policy, with a focus on Federal Government legislation, policies and programs that impact on the work of the Anglicare Australia member agencies. They are also responsible for driving research within Anglicare Australia and the larger network that supports Anglicare Australia’s advocacy goals and furthers the voices of clients.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge and understanding of social and economic policy; a collaborative style; strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated research skills and the ability to develop policy positions.

The National Policy and Research Director reports to the Deputy Director.

Conditions of employment
– The position is offered full-time. Ongoing employment is subject to a satisfactory probationary period.
– Salary in the range of $70,000 – $90,000 dependent upon qualifications will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
– The role is currently based in Ainslie, ACT. However, occasional interstate travel may be required.
