About the role

PUBLICATIONS OFFICER – FULL TIME (38hr week)
Based in Scone, Upper Hunter NSW

The Organisation
The Australian Stock Horse Society is a Membership based, Not for Profit organisation and has an aim to preserve and promote the bloodlines of the Australian Stock Horse. The Society is Australia’s largest equine recreational and pleasure association, with more than 9,300 Members and in excess of 180,000 registered horses in the Stud Book.

The Role
The role of Publications Officer is to produce, maintain, and develop the Society’s publications, those include the bimonthly Australian Stock Horse Journal, promotional material, forms and assist with limited website updates.

The role is a permanent full time position with an attractive base salary and superannuation package.

This role reports directly to the Communications Manager and key responsibilities include:

  • Production of the Australian Stock Horse Journal
  • Deliver content which meets the needs of the readership base
  • Liaison with contributors and advertisers to ensure National and International editorial coverage
  • Accountability for the advertising and print process
  • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts
  • Ability to sub-edit work in line with organisational policies
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities

 

Ideally the Successful Applicant should have the following strengths, either gained through qualifications or experience:

  • Proven experience and demonstrated ability in print media (including a portfolio of work)
  • Competencies in a wide range of design software (eg. lndesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver)
  • Customer Service centric
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Experience or Knowledge in the Equine Industry
  • ‘Can Do’ Attitude
