About the organisation
Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional education and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. Within the Prevention Division, the newly formed Screening, Early Detection and Immunisation Program aims to mobilise community participation in cancer screening and immunisation by:
- Encouraging participation in evidence-based screening and HPV immunisation programs, including among Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities; and.
- Developing, implementing and evaluating bowel screening campaigns.
About the role
About your opportunity
We are seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to join the Screening, Early Detection and Immunisation team. Reporting to the Priority Communities Manager, your role is to:
• Develop, implement and evaluate innovative and engaging cancer screening and HPV immunisation initiatives targeting culturally diverse communities, people affected by social and economic disadvantage and other priority groups.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders across Victoria to develop and implement community-based initiatives and delivery of workforce development strategies.
• Supervise the Community Project Officer and a group of Bilingual Health Facilitators, who support the implementation of community programs to priority population groups.
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
• A relevant tertiary degree and/or substantial experience in project management, implementation and evaluation in community development, health promotion or related fields.
• Experience working in women’s health and/or with priority population groups, such as culturally diverse groups or communities affected by social and economic disadvantage.
• Experience in developing and presenting training and education programs.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills.

This full-time fixed term position to 22 December 2017 provides a salary within range $66,644 – 74,930 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card.
