About the role

The Barwon Consortium, a network of Geelong Community Service Organisations that manages the Geelong Family Relationship Centre, is now seeking a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner/Family Relationship Advisor to join their team based in Geelong. The lead organisation of this consortium is CatholicCare where our post separation services program assists individuals, particularly parents, to resolve conflicts arising from separation or divorce without going to court.

Reporting to the Manager, Geelong FRC this role will be involved in but not limited to:
• Responding to and providing information for enquiries from the public, community agencies, lawyers and other professionals.
• Conducting intake interviews with parties to a dispute.
• Conducting family dispute resolution sessions assessed as appropriate.
• Providing case management and appropriate documentation for clients.
• Providing appropriate information and referral for parties.
• Developing and maintaining contact with relevant service organisations.
• Other duties as required.

As the successful applicant you will possess:
• A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Law or a post graduate qualification in Conflict resolution.
• Experience and/or qualifications as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner under the Family Law Act.
• Sound knowledge of Family Dispute Resolution theory and practice.
• Knowledge of family systems, child and family development, grief and loss, family violence and safety issues, and the impact of separation/divorce on adults and children.
• Current accreditation from the Attorney General’s Department to be a FDRP
• Direct experience of case management and referral networks for separating families.
• Demonstrated experience in working with families and children in a human services environment.
• Understanding of general client data systems
