Located on the north side of Sydney Harbour Taronga Zoo is home to over 4,000 animals and 350 species. The Zoos believe in a shared future for wildlife and people and works in partnership with wildlife conservation organisations and communities to develop ways to protect endangered species and habitats.
About the role

The Role
Filling in for the incumbent who is taking a well earnt 12 month sabbatical you will lead the delivery and execution of the exiting fundraising strategy for major gifts, direct marketing, bequests, memberships and events.
Key Accountabilities
- Continue to drive revenue generation performance to achieve or exceed the current fundraising target of $15M and membership target of $5.9M
- Drive and deliver an effective recruitment strategy for regular givers, appeal donors, bequestors, major givers and Zoo friend member programs
- Execute the multi-faceted direct marketing, donor development and online marketing program that develops broad-based community support for Taronga
- Manage revenue and expenditure budgets to maximise efficiency and profitability
- Maintain strong relationships with industry groups, key supporter groups and critical stakeholders whilst enhancing the brand of Taronga and the Taronga Foundation
Skills Required
Ideally, you are currently managing a similarly complex and growing fundraising operation. You have an understanding and appreciation of best practice fundraising with highly developed financial and staff management skills and experience in the management of a major investment strategy.
