About the role
This is a one year fixed contract role that will manage the ECIA Best Practice Project funded by the NDIA.
The Senior Project Manager will lead the strategic direction of the project with the intention of building foundations for long-term growth, sustainability and viability of the organisation by:
• Overseeing operational management of the project and ensuring good corporate governance practices are maintained and adherence to ECIA policy;
• Develop relationships with other key stakeholders and peak bodies and represent the organisation in various forums.
While the successful candidate could work from anywhere in Australia it is expected that extensive travel nationally will be required to fulfil the role responsibilities. Therefore access to a Capital city airport is desirable.
The key objectives of this project are to:
• Collaborate nationally and partner the NDIA and Early Childhood Intervention providers to deliver the ECEI approach.
• Provide the NDIA with practice leadership to assist in the change process through the transition.
• Undertake detailed assessment of readiness and gaps in the capability of the market in each jurisdiction including for the development of Partner capabilities and the understanding of the role of Partners.
• Leverage the local ECIA networks in each state and territory to develop Early Childhood Early Intervention service capacity.
• Develop and facilitate local consultations and workshops in each NDIS region to build awareness of the change required to operatethe NDIS ECEI approach; and
• Guide ECIA in each jurisdiction in their implementation of actions and plans to support transition and capacity building.

Essential
• A demonstrated ability to lead organisational change;
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing projects;
• Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders from varying social contexts and other professionals within the field;
• Demonstrated ability to work with Boards; and
• Demonstrated experience in building organisational/business capacity.
• Demonstrated understanding of how policy is delivered differently in various social services jurisdictions
Desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of the early childhood intervention sector, the ECEI approach and the NDIS rollout as it pertains to the early childhood years;
• Understanding of the current trends, issues and policy in ECI in all NDIS jurisdictions
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, protocols and procedures;
• Relevant Tertiary qualifications;
• A high level of computer literacy;
• Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with State and Commonwealth government and other key stakeholders; and
• Experience within a not for profit, community-based or membership-driven organisation.
