MiCare Ltd (formerly DutchCare and New Hope Foundation) is a leading provider of aged care, retirement living and settlement services to the multicultural community in Victoria. We are seeking an Accounts Officer to join our team, located in Carrum Downs.
About the role
This newly created position will be a member of the MiCare finance team, responsible for delivering accurate financial accounts for our Home Care clients under the Consumer Directed Care (CDC) principles. The position will work collaboratively within a small team, with primary responsibility for a region’s CDC client base. Reporting to the Finance Manager the role will involve sourcing client funding and services data and transforming this into accurate financial information for reporting on the client statements within established monthly timeframes.
The Accounts Officer plays a key role in the delivery of high quality service to our Home Care clients and within our dedicated and professional finance team. Working hours will be full-time with a minimum of four days per week by agreement with the successful applicant.
The Person:
The person we are looking for will be able to demonstrate
- Significant experience in working with various accounting software systems.
- Good Excel skills with demonstrated level of experience.
- Strong General Ledger reconciliation experience.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and work to achieve goals and meet deadlines including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to work within the team environment committed to supporting the mission and vision of MiCare.
- Strong focus on quality outcomes to support our case managers in the provision of excellent service to our home care clients.
- An understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
- A can-do attitude to readily adapt in an industry that experiences ongoing change with the challenges and opportunities that this creates.
- Accounting experience in the Aged Care industry preferred but not essential.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of five years working in an accounting role.
- Accounting level 1 qualifications preferred by not required.
