Senior Fundraising Consultant, Private Hospitals

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) employs over 1,800 staff across four acute private hospitals representing 550 beds and sits alongside St Vincent’s Public Hospital Melbourne (SVHM) a leading teaching, research and tertiary health service, which employs more than 5,000 staff across 18 sites throughout Melbourne. Both hospitals are part of Australia’s largest not-for-profit Catholic health and aged care network, St Vincent’s Health Australia. The purpose of St Vincent’s Foundation is to inspire giving and support excellence in research, medical innovation and patient care by raising funds and creating awareness of both hospitals in the community.

This newly created role provides enormous potential and an ideal platform for someone to have a significant impact in the creation of a philanthropic program to build revenue to support the needs of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne. Working in collaboration with the Foundation Director and senior managers, you will provide high level strategic fundraising advice and support to the Regional Chief Executive Officer, clinicians and leadership team. Taking an active role in the engagement and management of relationships, you will develop a donor centric approach, nurturing partners and sponsors to improve financial and philanthropic support.

With a proven track record developing and implementing an integrated program of fundraising strategies, you will be an experienced manager within a large not-for-profit, health care or education organisation. With a talent for establishing and strengthening long-term partnerships with major donors, you will demonstrate the ability to understand their needs and interests to optimise support. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills are critical; with a professional and collaborative style you will work with the team to deliver results for the immediate and long-term goals of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne. A degree qualification in business, commerce, marketing or equivalent is essential as is an excellent understanding of fundraising fundamentals and channels.
