About the role

As NSW Public Affairs Manager, you will be responsible for actively driving the organisation’s profile and reputation to ensure Bicycle Network is the key bike spokesperson in NSW. You will be responsible for the organisation’s communications and advocacy function in NSW, increasing media coverage, acting as a spokesperson, lobbying face-to-face with decision makers, social media planning and execution, building membership and producing content for the Bicycle Network website and newsletters.

This is an outstanding opportunity to align your personal belief and commitment to physical activity and its benefits, with an advocacy role where you can make a real difference. To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and effective communicator, with demonstrated experience liaising with the media and lobbying government at all levels. You will have an appreciation of the bike riding environment in NSW. Drawing on your previous experience, you will demonstrate an excellent ability to build rapport and deepen relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will be a progressive thinker, willing to tackle any challenge; always striving to improve, and ambitiously trying new things to innovate and create. You will be capable of being able to balance working independently and collaboratively.

This role is based in Darlinghurst, Sydney and is full time (although 4 days per week would be considered).
