About the organisation
About the role
• Lead this innovative organisation using a collective impact framework
• Leverage your passion and experience in early childhood development
• Use your influencing skills to create positive change for children
Each year in Australia, 65,000 five-year-olds – or one in five – start school each year missing out on some of the things they really need early in their lives in order to thrive. Opportunity Child’s bold goal is to dramatically change this. This is a unique opportunity to provide leadership in this newly formed organisation using a collective impact framework nationally to achieve positive change for children.
Opportunity Child is using a ground-breaking framework for creating large-scale social and systems change. It is a collective of leading partner communities, national organisations and a wider learning network, all working together to change the system that impacts the lives of children in Australia. This collective is ready to align individual strategies for shared early childhood outcomes, disrupt the status quo and develop new ways of working together towards systems change. Opportunity Child is seeking a CEO to lead and work in partnership with the board and Advisory Council, to develop and implement the organisation’s vision, mission and strategic initiatives.
You will be an exceptional leader with a proven ability to collaborate, negotiate, engage and build trusted relationships across the corporate, government, philanthropic, non-profit and community sectors. You will have highly-developed skills in communicating key messages succinctly, have experience in media relations and policy engagement with a demonstrated understanding of the political and legislative landscape. In this role, you will be equally comfortable and capable of working at a strategic level influencing policy, as you are working in the detail conducting research, due diligence and impact measurement.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a leader with existing corporate, government and philanthropic networks and a track record of running businesses particularly of a start-up nature. Your ability to raise funds and drive capital growth will be essential for success. You will have a genuine interest in, and deep engagement with the community services sector particularly early childhood, as well as a knowledge of place-based approaches and how to influence government policy.
This is a fulltime role and based in Melbourne.
