About the role

The Position:

The Unit Coordinator will be part of the KEYS Leadership Team, and will be responsible for enabling positive and forward looking outcomes to be achieved for young people who are being accommodated within the Intensive Support Service (4 young people) and in an outreach capacity (up to 4 young people). House Coordinators are responsible for leading and supporting their teams of Skills Coaches, Community Engagement Workers and managing the overall day to day functions of the home.
•Ensure appropriate therapeutic interventions and responses are used to work with all children and young people, and which promote stability, development and long term planning.
•Work cooperatively with other staff involved in the care and development of the child or young person in placement to ensure that routines, community activities, and behavioural expectations are consistently maintained.
•Coordinate and contribute to the intake and assessment of children and young people entering Intensive Support Service houses.
•Have responsibility for the coordination and rostering of Skills Coaches within the home which will include regular supervision and daily support.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

•A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, and/or behavioural science at degree level with substantial experience
•relevant experience and competence in the human service field including experience in working with children and young people in a residential setting
•An ability to work flexibly to meet the challenging needs of young people
•Highly developed written and spoken communication skills
•Highly developed negotiation and problem solving skills
•Excellent organisational, time management skills, and ability to be self-directed
•Well-developed supervision skills and demonstrated experience in staff management
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment
