About the role

DV Vic is looking for a values driven, family violence and community sector specialist to join our growing team and organisation. DV Vic offers its employees:

DV Vic is currently recruiting for the new position of Statewide Coordinator to support the implementation of the Specialist Family Violence Advisor – Capacity Building Pilot Program.

The Specialist Family Violence Advisor – Capacity Building Pilot Program has been developed to contribute towards recommendations 98 and 99 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.

This program will provide expertise and support for workers in the Mental Health and Alcohol and Drug sectors to identify and respond to family violence with their clients, whether they are experiencing family violence or perpetrating family violence. It will also promote collaboration between the family violence, mental health and alcohol and drug sectors. The Statewide Coordinator will be a critical resource that will contribute to the success of the Program.

The Statewide Coordinator will work closely with the DV Vic team and will function as the key representative, liaising regularly with Family Safety Victoria (FSV).

The Statewide Coordinator will develop, foster and maintain strong working relationships with Specialist Family Violence Advisors, key internal and external stakeholders and will have a strong capacity for self-direction and problem solving.

The successful candidate will have a high level of technical expertise in family violence practice responses and an understanding of structural advocacy and organisational/system change processes. You will have a comprehensive understanding of the service system, complexity and impact of family violence on women, children and the broader community.

The Statewide Coordinator is an exciting opportunity for a family violence practice expert, with a track record of effective leadership, to help strengthen Victoria’s response to family violence.
