Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services.
The Administrative Assistant contributes to the effective delivery of the Bright Spots Schools Connection (The Connection). The Connection provides support to develop projects and actions that respond to the issues of education disadvantage in Australia’s most challenged school communities. The Connection Team operates within SVA’s Venture Philanthropy business unit.

The position
With growth of the Bright Spots Schools Connection, SVA has a newly created opportunity for a committed and capable individual interested in applying their administrative and coordination experience to a values-driven organisation. Working closely within The Connection team, the position is primarily focused on timely and quality assured administrative assistance in support of effective delivery of The Connection initiative. Key elements of the position include data management, event support and coordination and team process support. Responsibilities are broad and necessitate working with stakeholders throughout SVA, and externally.
Who you are
We are looking for self-motivated individual with a proven ability to support a team across a wide variety of activity. We are seeking previous experience providing administration and coordination support to a team and or office, including on financial processes. To be successful in this role you will be skilled in prioritising and meeting deadlines and a willing learner able to work across a wide variety of interesting tasks. A strong attention to detail and the pursuit of excellence must be complemented by willingness to ‘get your hands dirty’. This unique role provides exposure to an interesting and rewarding scope of work addressing education disadvantage in Australia.
