About the organisation
Birth for Humankind are a Melbourne-based non-profit organisation, who exist to ensure that every mother, regardless of her socioeconomic circumstances, has access to support, education and care during pregnancy, birth and early parenting. The women we support are primarily from refugee or asylum seeker backgrounds, young women, women experiencing homelessness and women with a history of family violence and trauma. We provide support to women through a number of tailored birth support and education programs, including a Doula Support Program, Education, Research and Advocacy programs.
About the role
THE ROLE
We are seeking a strong, experienced leader with expertise in fundraising and advocacy within the community services or NFP sector, and who has a passion for maternal and/or women’s health outcomes. With a focus on sustainability, the CEO is accountable to the Birth for Humankind Board of Directors, and has ultimate responsibility for execution of the strategic plan, operational plans and the day-to-day running of the organisation. Our ideal candidate is a passionate, engaged executive with a collaborative leadership style, who can manage the strategic and the operational, and can lead an expert team into the next phase of the organisation as we move towards sustainability. Experience in all aspects of leading a successful organisation is a must, including fundraising and diversification of funding streams, business development, networking and partnerships experience.
