About the role
The Victims Assistance Program (VAP) provides information, advice and practical support for anyone who has experienced, witnessed or been directly affected by a violent crime and we are currently seeking a Manager to provide support, guidance, mentoring and leadership to our VAP teams in southern metropolitan Melbourne and Gippsland. This full time role is based in Narre Warren and will be responsible for maintaining efficient and effective support services to VAP consumers with a heavy focus on service development, service improvement and growth of the program.
It is an exciting time to join Windermere as we work to use evidence to inform a professional practice that places the consumer at the center of all we do. The Manager, Victims Assistance Program will play an important role in the development and implementation of an evidence
informed service system across all service areas that results in a common language, framework, performance measures, evaluation and continuous improvement that drives a seamless approach for
consumers across our many service offerings.
The ideal candidate with possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Community Health or relevant and related discipline plus post graduate qualification/s in Management or similar
- Experience leading, motivating and supervising staff to work as a team with the ability to manage and resolve conflict and other sensitive matters
- Exceptional team development skills including leading teams through a process of practice change and learning
- Demonstrated capacity to negotiate and work constructively with funding bodies and other stakeholders and represent the organisation at a variety of external forums
