The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a leading independent organisation that helps migrant and refugee young people build positive lives in Australia. By focusing on young people’s strengths we are able to develop stronger communities, support other service providers and influence decision makers at local, state and national levels.
CMY’s MY Education team increases the connectedness of refugee and migrant young people to school and the community, in particular by strengthening out of school hours learning opportunities. This is an exciting opportunity to support the learning needs of refugee and migrant young people in Victoria.
The successful candidate will have:
•An understanding of the education sector in particular schools, curriculum and the challenges for students and families with refugee and migrant backgrounds;
•An understanding of Out of School Hours Learning Support Programs and their role in supporting education needs is desirable;
•High level project management skills when working with diverse and multiple stakeholders and demonstrated experience in developing, brokering and implementing multi-stakeholder projects;
•An ability to work independently, use own initiative and also work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with peers across multiple regions;
•A demonstrated commitment to our principals: diversity, human rights and participation.
