About the role

The Family Advisor is part time (4 days per week, with the possibility of fulltime in the near future) position based at RACR Deakin. The position is offered as a fixed term contract until 30 June 2019.

Reporting to the Counselling Team Leader, the Family Advisor assists practitioners in delivering quality services to clients by providing information, intake, screening, referrals and case coordination. They will also need to liaise with a wide range of external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you are required to possess:

• Minimum Certificate IV Qualification in social welfare, or related discipline and/or relevant experience.
• Excellent observational, telephonic communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage and interact sensitively with a diverse range of people, particularly children.
• Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills to act on behalf of vulnerable clients and demonstrated ability to rapidly identify client needs assess risk and prioritise accordingly.

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is $62,208.12 to $66,825.72 plus superannuation per annum for full time and PBI benefits. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.
According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, and special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
