Vision Australia is a leading national provider of blindness and low vision services in Australia. We work in partnership with Australians who are blind or have low vision to help them achieve the possibilities they choose in life.

We support more than 27,500 people of all ages and life stages, and circumstances. We do this through 28 Vision Australia centres in Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia; 30 clinics; and through outreach programs in the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Orthoptist to join our team in Perth.

Responsibilities

As an Orthoptist at Vision Australia you will:

Provide functional vision assessments and recommendations that address the priorities of clients of all ages, supporting them to make the most effective use of their vision; this includes the use of low vision aids, lighting and other specialist equipment
Utilise a person-centred and strengths based approach, providing services that focus on client’s needs and goals
Provide quality on-the-spot information, demonstration, sales assistance, post-sales support, and troubleshooting/repairs on equipment for internal and external customers
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

Approved qualifications in Orthoptics as recognised by the Australian Orthoptic Association
Registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board
Knowledge and skills in working with children, adults and older adults
Experience providing client support and Orthoptic services in person and/or through other communication mediums
