About the role
On behalf of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand is seeking interest from prospective Board members in Victoria and New South Wales with the skills, energy and passion to assist us develop bold and innovative services, research and advocacy to improve the position of women and girls in Australia and elsewhere.
Our areas of expertise are, safety and resilience, financial security, educational pathways and research and advocacy.
The Good Shepherd Mission is to to create an emotionally, economically and physically safe world, especially for women and girls. Our purpose is to disrupt the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage and enable fullness of life, especially for women and girls.
We do this so women can increase their choices, opportunities and outcomes in life
Our values of reconciliation, zeal, justice, audacity and the value of each person guide us in all that we do.
We are looking for Board members who will demonstrate alignment with the values and mission of GSANZ and commitment to social justice and gender equity.
In particular, we are looking for persons who can make a contribution based on expertise in one of the following areas:
1. Digital inclusion, and social enterprise development;
2. Communications & Marketing;
3. Strategic Partnerships and Network development; and
4. Service knowledge
The Board generally meets in Melbourne ten times annually and Board members are also involved in Committees of the Board. Committees generally meet five to six times annually.
