The Dhunlung Yarra Unit is a dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander therapeutic service staffed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander professionals. Members of the team work across a range of programs to deliver a range of culturally appropriate services, including counselling, family dispute resolution and other relationship support services.

About the role

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Team Leader of Dhunlung Yarra (DY) Service is a full time, ongoing position based in Deakin, ACT.

Reporting to the Program Manager for Early Intervention Services, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander DY Team Leader is expected to lead the DY team and support clinical practice, service promotion, community engagement and provide operational support to the RACR programs and Dhunlung Yarra service while fostering cultural competence across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you should be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and possess:

– Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional well-being priorities and ability to effectively and sensitively liaise and communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

– Demonstrated successful experience in working with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations as well as with government and non–government agencies and leading a team of professionals

– An appropriate qualification in counselling, social work, psychology or other relevant field

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer is in the range of $82,306.25 to $85,992.84 plus superannuation for full time position. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
