SSI Employment and Enterprises provides recruitment services, pre-employment planning and training, and work experience opportunities to help people establish suitable career pathways.

Meaningful employment is an important component to a stable, secure and independent future. SSI works with long-term unemployed, newly arrived refugees, people seeking asylum, migrants, young people and people with disability to achieve this.

 

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

The Refugee Employment Facilitator will support humanitarian clients to develop and implement a career pathway plan, providing career advice, and coaching and supporting the client along all stages of their career pathway plan to achieve their employment aspirations. The Refugee Employment Facilitator will manage their own client caseload and will be responsible for achieving Refugee Employment Support Program (RESP) outcomes with their clients, working closely with their Line Manager and program staff. 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Work directly with clients to develop realistic and well-informed career pathway plans that are individualised to their employment background and aspirations.
  • Provide advice to clients regarding career entry and progression in a range of professions and industries, relevant training and experience requirements qualification and skill recognition opportunities, as well as education and training opportunities.
  • Refer clients to other organisations as per their career pathway plan, actively develop and maintain relationships with other organisations.
  • Work with employers to support clients into employment placements, and provide post-placement support to both clients and employers. 

 

ABOUT YOU

Do you have a sales or agency recruitment background? Are you a result driven person with a passion to use your skills to help others? Are you resilient and adaptable with a can do attitude? If so we want to hear from you! 

Ideally, you would be someone with 2+ years of relevant experience in providing employment or career advice with tertiary qualifications. Your demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders coupled with your resilient attitude and strong negotiation skills will see you succeed in this role. With excellent time management and organisational skills, you are a self-motivator with initiative and demonstrated ability to work unsupervised.
