FMC Mediation and Counselling ('FMC') helps people develop knowledge and skills to live safer, more confident lives, enjoy healthier relationships and emerge stronger after challenging times.
Established in the 1980s, FMC was one of the earliest providers of mediation and alternate dispute resolution for families. Building on that core expertise, the Company has in recent years diversified it service offer. Today, it is also a leading provider of child counselling, elder abuse, financial counselling, mental health and psychology services and a range of related activities. A staff of around 80 deliver services from 21 locations to more than 8,000 clients each year. About the role
The Company has a clearly articulated strategic commitment to growing its impact and influence, is in good financial health, and is currently investing in a range of capacity-building projects. It is a dynamic organisation with strong leadership and an enterprising culture. FMC is incorporated as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee, governed by a skills-based board of directors who serve in an honorary capacity.
Applications are now open to join the Board of FMC. In addition to governance knowledge and experience, we are looking for applicants with the following specialist skills:
- senior lawyer, ideally with family law specialisation and experience
- mental health or medical professional (eg. psychologist, GP)
- senior finance professional, ideally with CFO experience or similar (CPA or CA preferred).
