About the role
- Location: Wangaratta
- 1 Full time position
- $55,461 – $69,000
The Opportunity
The Extended Care Program provides support to foster care families to meet the day to day needs of the children they have in their care.
To be considered for this role you must demonstrate
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal communities and culture and an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia
- An ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner with young people, their families and communities to ensure that cultural connections are fostered and maintained
- Proven engagement skills – ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with carer families and child/young people in their care
- Convene and lead care team meetings and develop relationships with professionals to meet the needs of the child and case plan outcomes
- Sound organisational skills – the ability to prioritise work, plan and meet deadlines and reports on time
- Ability and or experience working in case management roles
- A demonstrated capacity to work independently and within in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in using the CRISS and CRISP data systems or ability to learn
- Sound written skills and the ability to write case notes, maintain case files and prepare reports
- Ability to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call roster
- A degree or diploma or equivalent in Social Work, Social Welfare Sector or other
