About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of new Australians. The Director will be responsible for the key strategic growth areas – Employment Services and Social Enterprise. This role will have the operational responsibility, and be a key strategy leader for a key growth area for SSI, with a significant impact on its clients. Working closely with the General Manager Service Delivery – Community, to continue SSI’s excellence in delivery in this space, and further develop this key strategic growth area for the business and focus agenda for State and Federal Government.
Role purpose
- Leadership of the strategic growth of Employment and Enterprise Services areas in line with the organization’s strategic and business plans
- Developing and lead a high performing team that manages effectively from both financial and operational perspectives, manages risks and develops high performing, accountable team members
- Leading and managing the Employment and Enterprise areas and teams; determining resourcing, capabilities, budgets, KPI’s, people development and performance management
- Working with Employment and Enterprise management team to identify opportunities for improvement in delivery of the program. Driving continuous improvement through re-engineering business processes, assessment of people capability and resourcing model, efficiencies in delivery etc.
- Building relationships in the sector with a range of aligned organisations, bodies and member organisations.
Essential experience
- Proven leadership, strong strategic thinking, planning and decision-making capability
- Experience working in a highly regulated/ legislative sector
- Senior strategic level experience, involving the development of complex business plans and negotiation of contracts
- Experience leading service delivery programs
- Proven senior operational management experience
- Experience and understanding of the machinery of government, NFP, corporate and community sector
- Demonstrated experience in identifying and negotiating strategic partnerships
- Demonstrated experience leading large teams
- Significant experience managing large government contracts
