The Role
You will provide information, education, coaching and resources on asthma and linked conditions to support people with asthma and their carers. Asthma Australia offers a structured phone coaching programme to people with Asthma. You will follow an online programme and lead clients through structured questions, identifying gaps based on guidelines, providing information and setting clear goals for them to reach.
You will spend approximately 70% of your day on the phone helping people to work through their programme. You will enter data online as you go and ensure the system is up to date after each coaching session. Feedback to the client and their GP via a report is then completed. Additional time may be spent providing education to health professionals or stakeholders in a group setting or applying your health knowledge to review in house information and training resources. This role is initially offered on a two year contract.
Skills Required
The successful candidate will have experience working one on one with people living with a chronic disease. Additionally you will have:
- Formal qualifications in health, nursing, allied health or similar
- High level of computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Health coaching experience is desirable
