About the role

  • Casual positions available
  • Opportunities in Victoria (Melbourne/regional)

The Smith Family is a national charity helping young Australians in need to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.

We have an exciting opportunity for a committed and organised individual able to deliver mathematics-focused educational sessions to professionals from the early years education sector. Your role will be varied and incredibly rewarding as you deliver the Let’s Count training for our early years partners. This is the type of position that may be managed in addition to your current commitments, as the sessions are sporadic and booked around your availability.

A day in the life of a Let’s Count Facilitator might look like:

  • Ensuring that the Let’s Count course is being delivered in a professional manner consistent with the requirements for participants to obtain competency in key messages of the program
  • Provide support and encouragement to Let’s Count participants to empower them to implement the learnings from the session
  • Manage professional relationships with participants and the community

To be one of our Let’s Count Facilitators you will have experience and knowledge in the early years sector, and experience delivering professional training to adults. You will have excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, and can manage a number of priorities without letting anything fall through the cracks. Most of all you care (lots!) about helping some of the most disadvantaged in our society.

Our team members tell us that working for The Smith Family is rewarding. They have great job flexibility and the ability to work alongside committed, passionate and professional team members whilst engaging in challenging, fulfilling and diverse work. In turn, our team members believe that they offer commitment to our vision, mission and values and effective collaboration with fellow team members to deliver strong performance outcomes.
