About the Service

The Society delivers essential Local Area Coordination (LAC) services as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rollout in NSW. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) represents a significant change in Australia’s ways of providi ng disability support with a focus on individual goals, choice, social inclusion and building capacity. NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

About the role

Are you interested in being part of the team that supports one of the largest social reforms in Australia empowering individuals and building inclusive communities?

  • Full time (38 hrs per week), maximum term role
  • $65k – $71k pa (Level 4 – SCHCADS Award) plus access to generous salary packaging up to $18,000pa
  • Base location: Gosford and Wyong

The Role

We are seeking a highly professional and friendly Administrative Support Officer/Receptionist to provide efficient support to the local management of Local Area Coordination (LAC) program utilising strong organisational skills and an ability to work autonomously to deliver high level secretariat services.

As the successful applicant, you will provide a range of administrative support functions including customer service and scheduling participant appointments. Your role will require flexibility and offer a broad range of diversity.

Main duties include:

  • Providing a professional and welcoming reception service to all participants, carers, families, staff and visitors and being available regular office hours, Monday to Friday, to greet visitors.
  • Supporting local management in planning and scheduling participant contact.
  • Organising and maintaining appropriate administrative records.
  • Preparing meeting rooms, materials and equipment as required.
  • Organising catering for meetings, training sessions and events as required.
  • Organising travel and accommodation as required.
  • Maintenance of day to day operations of local office sites and resources.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience providing reception and administrative/office support.
  • Lived experience, or awareness of the impact of existing or acquired disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community.
  • A strong team focus with a desire to carry out duties autonomously.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport.
  • Genuine commitment to providing high quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Good computer skills including the ability to use databases and Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • A commitment to the values of the St Vincent de Paul Society and ability to maintain an ethical, and non-judgmental, attitude towards staff, participants, carers and families.
  • Be culturally aware with an ability to work with people from a range of backgrounds, Aboriginal people and CALD people.
  • Influencing / negotiation skills.

The following will also highly regarded:

  • Experience in working with people with disability highly desirable
