Since 2010 we have presented 18 new works, performed 621 times in 312 venues to 99,417 people across Australia and around the world. Born from community, ILBIJERRI remains grounded in telling the stories of what it means to be First Nations in Australia today. ILBIJERRI supports self-determination for
First Nations voices through programs that foster emerging First Nations Theatre Makers and Industry Professionals. ILBIJERRI works to reclaim First Nations ways of working within the Australian Arts sector, through programs and projects grounded in deep listening with and
for community and country. We engage purposefully and promote discussion around key issues facing First Nations community. About the role

POSITION Executive Producer

TERM Full Time

SALARY RANGE From $90,000 p/a commensurate with qualifications and experience + superannuation

ACCCOUNTABILITY The Executive Producer is Co-CEO (with the Artistic Director) and works under the direction of, and reports to, the ILBIJERRI Board of Directors.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Executive Producer position at ILBIJERRI Theatre Company, is a unique and exciting leadership opportunity with one of Australia’s leading theatre companies creating innovative works by First Nations artists.

Working alongside ILBIJERRI’s Board of Directors and in close collaboration with the Artistic Director, the Executive Producer provides strong leadership for producing a large-scale program of new works and national and international touring for the company. The Board encourages First Nations applicants to this position.  In the interests of securing a First Nations leader into this position, the Board acknowledges that the successful candidate may require some skills development, provided by the company, in order to grow into the role during the initial 12 to 18 months. This skills development may be a combination of external mentorship, on the job skill development and targeted professional development activities.

Sharing the role of Chief Executive Officer with the Artistic Director, the Executive Producer role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and financial management of the company and its staff, while maintaining a clear focus on the company’s long-term strategic growth and direction under the organisation’s business plan. The Executive Producer oversees the implementation of the company’s artistic program and coordination of artistic funding submissions and acquittal of program funds. The role is also responsible for market development and promotion of the company both nationally and internationally.
