About the role

12 month fixed term contracts

1 Full time based in Melbourne

1 Part time (.6) based in Ballarat

Are you passionate about social justice? Do you want to be part of an organisation where your work has a social impact?

Funded by Court Services Victoria, the Court Support for Kids (CS4K) program provides diversionary play opportunities in Magistrates Court settings for children who are accompanying their mothers completing family violence related matters. The program currently operates in Sunshine, Geelong and Ringwood Magistrates Courts and is now being extended to Ballarat Magistrates Court and the Children’s Court Melbourne.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and have demonstrated experience in a working with children and young people. Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate:

• A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, child Psychology, Occupational Therapy or related discipline
• Substantial experience working directly with children of all ages
• Demonstrated experience working with women and children experiencing Family Violence
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Experience in working within a strengths based and trauma informed framework
• Familiarity with and commitment to Child Safe Standards and practice
• Experience in risk management including client and staff safety, confidentiality and duty of care

A National Police check, current Working with Children’s Check (Employee version) and a current driver’s license are required prior to commencement. Salary is line with SCHADS level 4. Salary packaging is available.
