About the role
2019 and beyond will see Better Place Australia continue to expand our footprint and the breadth of our service delivery. Central to our success is the leadership of our Psychological Services division which includes responsibility for all counselling and therapeutic services across mental health, child and adolescents and families & relationship services (FaRS) related programs. The role will also be responsible for Better Place’s centralised telephone intake service and the delivery of group programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, specific areas of responsibility will include:
- Through a team of Regional Services Managers, overseeing the operational delivery of a variety of psychological services across multiple sites in Victoria ensuring excellence in customer services and therapeutic outcomes
- Leading, coaching and developing a high performing management team with an emphasis on innovation, professionalism, productivity, and sound fiscal management.
- Strategically positioning Better Place as a market leader within the sector and seeking out growth, innovation and expansion opportunities
- Creating strong engagement with stakeholders, community and business
To be considered for appointment, prospective candidates will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline (eg Psychology, Health, Social Work) and will possess extensive senior management experience in a related sector. Strong operational experience is essential with demonstrated expertise in managing services and teams across a variety of community services programs. Strong financial management and funding experience is also required including the management of budgets, grant agreement requirements and complex funding structures. The successful candidate will have a track record as an exceptional leader with a proven ability to motivate, influence and successfully facilitate change together with highly developed strategic thinking skills including in relation to new service development. A background as a therapeutic practitioner within the community services sector would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge and understanding of the family violence context.
