About the role
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people in Out of Home Care. With exceptional relationship building skills, you will work with a motivated team of Foster Carers and a range of service providers to ensure the care environment for children and young people is safe.
You will use your knowledge of child and adolescent development and the impact of trauma to support and promote therapeutic care environments where children and young people are supported to heal and thrive.
What do you need to bring?
- Tertiary qualification in either Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or a related field
- Safe Environments for Children and Young People (mandated reporting certification)
- Experience working with families, children and young people in a community services setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven strengths in collaboration and building strong and authentic relationships
- Knowledge of Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems and legislation
- Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness
What can you expect to be doing?
- Enable children and young people to reach their potential by developing the skills and knowledge of foster care families in providing quality care
- Ensure carer families have access to resources to meet the needs of children in their care
- Using your assessment and organisational skills to coordinate strengths based, trauma informed service delivery and meet key performance indicators
- Facilitate a holistic service approach to families, children and young people in Out of Home Care by working with service providers
- Work in a supportive team environment and collaborate with AnglicareSA Child Protection, Out of Home Care programs, the Department for Child Protection and other professionals on a daily basis
