About the role
You will be responsible for bringing together leading philanthropists and foundations from around the world; managing all aspects of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s major gifts programs including donor identification, engagement, solicitation and stewardship. This role will also oversee the Foundation’s growth into key international markets and supervise international development personnel located in satellite offices.
As a natural leader and networker, you will use your exceptional relationship building skills to continue to nurture and grow your existing strong network for the good of the Foundation.
This is a newly created position with a vision that clearly reflects the sole purpose of the Foundation – to protect and restore the Great Barrier Reef.
About the organisation
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. More than 2 million people travel to see it each year. It is worth more than $6 billion to the Australian economy and has recently been estimated to be worth more than $50 billion internationally by Deloitte Access Economics. However, despite all of this it is in great danger. As the largest living organism on Earth, the Reef needs protection and investment – now more than ever.
The Great Barrier Reef Foundation is the largest charity raising money for the Reef and is also responsible for delivering a $440 million Reef funding program, recently announced by the Australian Government. To help deliver this exciting program of work over the next six years, the Foundation is seeking an accomplished and strategic major gifts fundraiser to join the journey
