About the organisation
About the role
Values-based NFP providing support to new migrants & refugees needs a spirited, hands-on & market-proven CEO to lead with true conviction, compassion & authenticity.
- Accomplished leader & influencer committed to helping migrants & refugees
- Need C-Suite or equivalent leadership exp, solid financial acumen & record of innovative sustainable and impactful growth
- Statewide reach with head office in Brisbane
This is a significant and successful enterprise that has been in the capable hands of an effective and much-loved leader for a long time, who is now moving on to a new challenge. Cleverly and frugally run – with funds mostly derived from government grants – it has grown to a point where it has a sizeable annual turnover.
So, the opportunity exists for a new CEO to come into a well-run business with an ardent and unerring purpose, a supportive Board and a great record for providing support that is faithful to its clients’ aspirations and passions. With a strong base to maintain and build upon, the new CEO will also ensure that the organisation’s influence and impact is even further extended and that it has the right mix of resources, systems and skills to remain sustainable for the coming decades.
Its executive team lives its ethical values day-to-day, thinks strategically, thrives on energy, commitment, ideas, passion, hard work and embraces continuing professional development.
Representing the Board, leading and nurturing the executive team, standing up for all clients, influencing policy at every opportunity while securing its long term sustainability and extending its profile will make for a Big Job. And of course, that is only the tip of the iceberg.
It’s a magnificent challenge – but one that will only suit a proven, ethical leader of vision and entrepreneurial affinities. Someone who is prepared to strive for social justice, is passionate about finding fair opportunities for Australia’s newest arrivals and ambitious for the organisation that champions them.
To do justice to the role, you will need a significant record of leading and managing a business that has required high financial acumen and (ideally) the development of new and sustainable sources of income. The ability to understand and interpret and deliver complex contracts – mostly from government – is also crucial.
We anticipate that you will have significant NFP sector experience or you will readily adapt to this sector.
We expect that – as an accomplished company advocate – you are well connected, have a robust reputation for getting things done, bring a reassuring personal presence and are used to subtly exerting influence at high levels.
With excellent communications, inter-personal and social skills, you are quietly confident that in stepping into a role shaped by a treasured leader over time, you can meet the future while fully respecting all of the good that’s been done before.
