About the role
Ensemble Offspring is looking for a keen, sharp and talented individual to be our new Marketing Manager to promote our innovative new music organisation, a national leader in the new music field for nearly 25 years. This position is ideal for an enthusiastic PR person with experience in marketing, communications and relationship management. We are looking for someone with copywriting, digital media and general marketing skills, as well as excellent people skills. The Position:
In this critical role we are looking for a positive and energetic new face for the company who will promote our culture of innovation, excellence and agility, in support of the Artistic Director’s vision.You will ensure that the ensemble’s marketingand promotional needs are being met byrunning the day-to-day operations of communications, maintenance of our website and online presence, with a focus on digital modes of dissemination. Technical skills are essential. There will also be a focus on copywriting, from promotional blurbs to grant texts, and innumerable business partnerships and events to be active with.This is a unique opportunity to join a vibrant and successful music organisation, working with a small and dedicated team of 4 in an exciting next phase of Ensemble Offspring’s trajectory.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing & Communications:
- Plan, develop and implement Marketing and Communications Strategies, consistent with the Strategic Plan, in collaboration with Artistic Director and General Manager.
- Draft, revise, adapt and proof promotional copy for multiple purposes in collaboration with Artistic Director.
- Create Ensemble Offspring monthly newsletter (Mailchimp template).
- Liaise with external stakeholders regarding publicity requirements.
- Use graphics software to produce and adapt promotional material.
- Create and edit in-house promotional videos related to forthcoming events.
- Coordinate, implement and analyse audience surveys.
- Oversee and analyse data collection for marketing purposes.
- Coordinate printing and production of marketing and promotional materials.
- Create, adapt and manage educational resources as required.
- Work with the Artistic Director and Development Coordinator on the preparation of grant applications and acquittals when necessary.
Website & Online Marketing:
- Create website content,develop and maintain website.
- Devise and implement SEO strategies.
- Coordinate social media profiles and feeds (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
- Create and disseminate content for all social media platforms.
- Upload and file archival material (photos, video, reviews) and select examples to disseminate via website and social media channels.
Advocacy:
- Help contribute to a company culture that inspires and supports everyone that comes into contact with Ensemble Offspring.
- Build and maintain diverse, effective, and sustainable relationships and partnerships.
- Attend performances and events as required (including out of ordinary work hours).
- Advocate for the organisation publicly and proactively contribute to sector advocacy.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
- A passion for music and enthusiasm for the creative output of Ensemble Offspring.
- Demonstrated experience in the arts or media, preferably with a knowledge of the national performing arts scene.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing with external stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated strong planning and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and meet competing deadlines.
- Excellent and effective verbal and written communication, with a commitment to a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
- Excellent copywriting skills, with an ability to assume the organisation’s voice, and to fit the message to the medium.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in website management, preferably WordPress or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design programs such as Indesign, Photoshop or similar, and/or skills to perform basic tasks such as layout, image resizing, etc.
- Experience with various marketing platforms, especially Mailchimp.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Knowledge of the new music and art music scene.
- Knowledge of editing software, eg. Premier Pro, iMovie, and general technical nous.
- Familiarity with team-based work management systems, such as Asana.
- Current driver’s license and own vehicle.
