Adult Supports Manager

TeamHEALTH has become the leading not for profit provider of mental health services in the Top End of the Northern Territory.  TeamHEALTH has provided outreach services, support and advocacy for Territorians with mental illness for over 30 years.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Adult Supports Manager provides strategic and operational leadership and management to provide increased opportunities for recovery for Adults whose lives are severely affected by mental illness.  The range of supports are provided in people’s homes, centre-based and in the community.  Utilising a strengths-based approach and providing intensive one to one or group support the supports delivered include capacity building, increased social and community participation, individual skills development and community access.

The Adult Supports Manager will develop and implement strategic and operational plans stemming from the organisation-wide strategic planning process.  The focus of the role entails evaluating the effectiveness of services provided to ensure continuous improvement in line with best practices within the mental health sector, generation of an increased profile in the community relating to mental health awareness, to oversee the provision of supports (including within emerging NDIS supports).  The role will also identify and introduce new initiatives to enhance (or extend existing supports), or remedy gaps or duplications in services.

Possessing qualifications in health, mental health, community services or relevant discipline plus five (5) years management experience, the successful applicant will have demonstrated capability to operate and think strategically displaying strong business acumen and a high level of initiative.
