About the role

The Position of CEO:

AANMS is seeking an experienced professional CEO to act as the key representative for this peak national body and its members. This is a key appointment for AANMS offering the successful candidate an exceptional opportunity to shine on the national stage. You will engage with a highly sophisticated membership and work closely with a supportive board at this time of change and renewal, without the additional complexities which come with managing a large full-time workforce. You will possess excellent organisational skills and be in a position to effectively develop, implement and oversee the various programs and services provided by AANMS to its members, with support from a highly experienced and dedicated full-time Education and Administration officer. As a CEO, you will also be responsible for leading the Association through a period of significant organisational change and restructure, and will provide expert assistance and support to the Board in relation to strategy development, business planning and implementation. A key part of the role will involve the development of a member engagement strategy and oversight of the numerous volunteers (who currently assist the Association through their membership on various committees and by providing technical expertise by way of content for educational programs and courses). You will be involved in liaison and relationship development with other Medical Colleges (such as RACP and RANZCR), other Special Societies, State and Federal Government agencies and committees (such as MSAC, and the TGA), NGOs and industry. The AANMS CEO will also represent the Association on various national committees. You will oversee all the administration and operations of the AANMS, including day to day activities and financial operations. Finally, the CEO will be expected to report regularly to the Board, support the Board in the discharge of its functions and work closely with the Company Secretary on governance matters.
