Chief Operating Officer – Contract

Act for Peace is currently advertising for a permanent Chief Operating Officer. As we seek our perfect candidate, we are looking for a skilled COO to support us.

Our COO leads Act for Peace’s finance, HR, IT, compliance, administration and infrastructure requirements, and provides services as our Company Secretary. Our COO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of our Leadership Team, as such they share responsibility for strategy as well as operations. Whilst our COO will be competent in all aspects of the role it is essential that they have significant experience in finance.

Our temporary COO will provide essential services to the CEO and Board, including financial management and preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, project management of refurbishment of an office, review of insurance, review of filing systems and oversight for finance staff. Depending on the length of the appointment our temporary COO may also contribute to the business planning underpinning our strategic planning activities. Additional activities may be required to support IT, HR and administration requirements. Specific duties will be agreed with the CEO.

The position will suit a COO who has experience in mid-sized agencies and is excited about being both big-picture, and very hands on.

Our COO manages our Business Services Department, a small team of finance and HR specialists, and has a direct report to the Board on finance.
