About the role

Are you interested in being part of the team that supports one of the largest social reforms in Australia empowering individuals and building inclusive communities?

  • Senior Management role – leading a systematic approach to embedding quality and consistent practice, capacity building and a culture of continuous improvement across the Local Area Coordination program.
  • Maximum term, full time (38 hrs per week) role until June 2020
  • Competitive base salary plus super, generous salary packaging including a motor vehicle
  • Base location: Woolloomooloo

 

 

About the Service

The Society delivers essential Local Area Coordination (LAC) services as part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) rollout in NSW. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) represents a significant change in Australia’s ways of providi ng disability support with a focus on individual goals, choice, social inclusion and building capacity. NDIS takes a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life.

 

The Role

Senior Manager – Quality & Practice is responsible for leading the systematic approach to embedding quality and consistent practice, capacity building and a culture of continuous improvement across the Society’s LAC Program. The LAC Program assists people with disability to achieve their goals through access to mainstream and community support, and funded support through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

 

To be successful in this role, you will need

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in quality or accreditation systems development
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in leading, managing and developing team members at a senior level
  • Sound understanding of quality management in the not-for-profit or government sector
  • Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of quality activities and processes
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in human services, disability services, child services, allied health, social work or community development
  • Experience in building partnerships with key stakeholders including government agencies and local service providers
  • High level strategic thinking skills, including the capacity to exercise sound judgement and develop innovative solutions to complex issues
  • Capacity to coordinate and project manage and meet key milestones
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS and commitment to its goals.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and liaison skills
  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence for sector development and capacity building
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to consistent and innovative work practices
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regular travel
  • Willingness to adhere to the Vision, Mission and Values of the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW

 

The following will be also highly regarded:

  • Qualifications in and/or lived experience of disability (while not essential) will be highly regarded.
