About the role

TeamHEALTH has become the leading not for profit provider of mental health services in the Top End of the Northern Territory.  TeamHEALTH has provided outreach services, support and advocacy for Territorians with mental illness for over 30 years.

Through the Child and Family Wellbeing Service early intervention and other supports are provided through community-based initiatives to support children and young people who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing a mental illness, to improve their wellbeing and enable them to better participate in their communities and reach their full potential.

Reporting to the Mental Health Promotion Manager the Team Leader provides overall management and leadership of the Child and Family Wellbeing Service, Palmerston/Litchfield Team, and the Mental Health Education stream.  They will work with the Manager and Team Leader, Rural and Remote, to develop, implement and deliver Family Mental Health Support Services (FMHSS) in the target areas.  The Team Leader will provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to the Key Workers, located in the Palmerston/Litchfield Region and TeamHEALTH staff involved in providing outreach mental health education and community development activities.

Possessing qualifications in a relevant health or welfare area the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of services applying a strength based approach and have demonstrated competence in a range of interventions relevant to children and young people.

The successful applicant will be required to have a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children Clearance and NT Driver’s Licence.
