About the organisation
The Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre (WAGEC) is a non-government, not-for profit charitable organisation that delivers a range of crisis and early intervention accommodation and support services to women, children, young people, and families who are experiencing, or at risk of homelessness and/or domestic and family violence.
We have operated in Sydney’s inner city and inner west for over 40 years. We currently deliver our Families Service through an alliance with the St Vincent De Paul Society, Wesley Mission, Jewish House and Stepping Out. Other WAGEC activities are delivered in partnership with community, business and government stakeholders
About the role
The SEED Program Coordinator is responsible for annual project planning, term-by-term programming, evaluation and integration of child and youth programs with other WAGEC client services. The core responsibilities of this role are:

Planning and programming of activities and programs for children and/or young people.

Providing individual therapeutic support to clients who are children or young people.

Proactively developing and managing relationships within WAGEC, and with external partners and stakeholders including volunteers.

Implementing the SEED monitoring, evaluation and reporting framework ensuring ethical data collection.

Providing child and young person focused consultation to WAGEC staff.

Actively contribute to WAGEC’s organisational culture.
About the Program:
The SEED program is designed to meet the Social, Emotional, Educational and Developmental (SEED) needs of children and young people who have experienced trauma or violence. SEED provides enriching activities, including a school holiday programs, tutoring and homework help, therapeutic and social supports that address the impact of adverse childhood experiences. By combatting the effects of trauma, we are helping kids reach their full potential by developing the tools they need to encourage a positive and safe life trajectory.
