As part of our headspace team at Dandenong and Narre Warren, EACH is looking for a Senior Clinician to provide clinical governance and secondary consultation for the intake team and to provide brief interventions for yo ung people and their families.
What you’ll be doing
The Intake and Brief Intervention Senior Clinician position is a crucial role within the headspace Dandenong and Narre Warren service and will be required to undertake a number of intervention activities for young people, their families, and carers.
As the point of access to headspace for young people & other community members, this position will complete a comprehensive screening assessment of young people, coordinate supported referrals and brief intervention. At times there will be complex case presentations requiring the position to perform therapeutic holding interventions until appropriate to refer-on. The position entails the formulation and facilitation of group programs offered to young people, their families or carers and the co-facilitation of the Student Placement Program, offering support, supervision and mentoring to elected placement students.
This role additionally requires senior responsibilities relating to risk response for planned and unplanned appointments, clinical governance for supporting staff members and facilitation of Supervision sessions for Intake Clinicians, Peer Support Workers, School Refusal program members and students on placement. It additionally includes the support and management for the Administration teams for difficult client presentations, and the responsibility of closing and openning the sites when applicable.
Working under the Intake & Brief Treatment Team Leader, the senior intake clinician will also participate in relevant intake service improvement projects across the two sites.
