The YUPI Group includes Ipswich YUPI program Inc., Our training and employment vehicle – Challenge Employment and Training Ltd which is also a Registered Training Organisation and another smaller organisation.  We deliver a range of Commonwealth and State employment assistance programs across south-east Queensland. We are also registered as an NDIS provider. Our portfolio of operations also includes QBCC licensed Building and Landscape Construction arms.

About the role

We are seeking the services of a talented Executive Officer to provide Executive level support to the CEO/MD in assisting him to position us as successful not for profit organisations.  The successful applicant will be a key advisor to the Chief Executive and understand internal and external factors which influence organisational development and success.

As a respected group of three community-based organisations (operating with a single management stream) with a strong heritage in assisting disadvantaged jobseekers in the vocational education and employment support sector, we also explore and undertake involvement in other parts of the community sector, the successful candidate will not only be able to exercise a broad range of high level skills but will have a personal commitment to social justice and social inclusion.  Our work is values-driven.

The Executive Officer undertakes a wide variety of research and development tasks associated with our strategic and business planning and review processes, undertakes business case assessments for new business proposals, contributes high level work to our Continuous Improvement processes, regularly reviews Group Policies and Procedures within a complex operating and compliance environment and leads on an array of human resource management tasks.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate past success in high level roles in community, government or corporate sectors.  Excellent analysis and written communication skills are vital as is a good understanding of the operating environment for modern not-for-profits – subject to an array of externally applied operating standards and contractual obligations and political environments.  They will understand Commonwealth and State program policy and purchasing arrangements and be able to contribute to our tendering work.

The position is an exciting and rewarding one which will give the successful candidate the opportunity to stretch their intellectual muscle and contribute real work to assist disadvantaged people and our society.

The successful candidate will preferably hold tertiary qualifications in a related field such as education or employment management, law or journalism.  Nonetheless, excellent experience will be afforded greater recognition.

The successful applicant we be require to undertake a police check and pass a fit and proper person assessment as part of the recruitment process.
