About the organisation

Organisation Name : Domestic Violence Victoria & the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria

Domestic Violence Victoria (DV Vic) and the Domestic Violence Resource Centre Victoria (DVRCV) have had a historically close relationship – with shared vision, values, and complementary functions. Together the Boards are delighted to announced that they have agreed to merge and are now seeking an inaugural Chief Executive Officer to lead both organisations through the process. Under the umbrella of Domestic Violence Victoria, the result will be an expanded, more robust and more influential peak body for the specialist family violence sector in Victoria.  An independent, non-government organisation with a vision for a world where women, children and all people can live fulfilled lives, free from fear and violence.

About the role

Reporting to the Board, the new Chief Executive Officer will provide leadership and strategic direction, creating a shared vision, positive workplace culture and a well-governed and sustainable organisation.  Building upon the strengths of both, you will further develop its role as a peak body, working with the sector to build resilience and capability by providing member representation and support services. With responsibility for realising DV Vic’s ambitions and delivering the intended benefits of the merger, the role will act as an agent of change to eliminate family violence. Influencing government, policy makers and community and business stakeholders, DV Vic will build intent and action to achieve systemic change.

With exceptional strategic leadership skills, political acumen, and a demonstrated commitment to gender equity and intersectional feminist principles and values, you will have extensive experience and success at operating at a senior level in a complex environment.    With a proven track record of driving transformational change, you will demonstrate the ability to work transparently with the Board to ensure the delivery of strategic and business outcomes. An inspiring and compassionate person who empowers others and sets clear objectives, you will ideally have led a program of work that has delivered reform and / or social change underpinned by effective collaboration.
