About the role
Wellbeing, safety and respect for all children and families is the Cafs (Child and Family Services) vision. An independent, community owned and governed not-for-profit with no religious affiliations, Cafs provide services throughout the Ballarat, Hepburn, Moorabool, Ararat, Golden Plains and Pyrenees regions. Delivering a comprehensive range of programs to support children, families and individuals, their key services focus on early help and prevention, targeted support and ongoing assistance.
As the Team Leader Home Based and Permanent Care, you’ll lead a team of practitioners to support children and young people in Foster Care and children referred to the Permanent Care and Adoption Programs. The role is responsible for ensuring that the care and/or case management of children in care is delivered in line with various compliance and legislative standards and requirements. Your role will be to lead these programs with a strong focus on carer engagement and support whilst ensuring excellent case management of the child in their care.
Your key deliverables will include:
- Overseeing and managing the Foster Care, Permanent Care and Adoption Programs, ensuring compliance standards are met and strategic objectives achieved
- Ensuring program objectives and targets are delivered in accordance with compliance standards, regulations and legislations from a range of governing bodies
- Maintaining accurate client data and records
- Supporting team members and providing regular and effective supervision to all direct reports
- Working collaboratively with other department team leaders and managers to ensure the successful delivery of the Foster Care, Permanent Care and Adoption Programs
This position requires a Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Psychology or relevant field, coupled with extensive experience across the welfare sector. You will also need to demonstrate your previous experience leading and managing people and ability to working in an at times complex and demanding environment where situations can quickly change. This role has a significant compliance focus and will require well-developed systems and process management skills, a strong character, the ability to problem solve and resilience. We are looking for a leader who can build relationships, who exudes energy and warmth, has a positive outlook and can work through challenges to find the positives.
