FightMND was established in 2014 with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The Foundation is the voice and guiding star for Australians who want to fight MND, referred to as ‘The Beast’ by Neale Daniher. Until a cure is found, FightMND is supporting those currently living with the disease by funding vital equipment and aides in order that they may maintain independence, dignity, and an improved quality of life.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells (neurones) controlling the muscles that enable us to move around, speak, swallow and breathe fail to work normally and eventually die. With no nerves to activate them, the muscles gradually weaken and waste. There is currently no truly effective treatment or known cure. This is why we fight MND – to cure, to care and make aware!
The FightMND team is expanding and requires a Commercial Partnerships Manager with proven success in relationship management, partnership acquisition, aligning values and securing support from the corporate sector. In addition to retaining existing partnerships, this newly created role will secure win-win partnerships that are strategically aligned to FightMND’s brand, values and cause and involvement in major campaigns including the Big Freeze and Daniher’s Drive.
Reporting to the Fundraising Director and working closely with the dynamic FightMND team, you will proactively engage all partner organisations to effectively steward and leverage opportunities to maximise financial, in-kind and pro-bono support. You will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for short-term and multi-year partnerships including an assets inventory, hierarchy framework, acknowledgement and recognition elements, stewardship plans, contract reviews and acquittal process to report on impact. Management of diverse stakeholder relationships, their expectations and multiple projects will be essential to meet partnership objectives, exceed revenue targets and deliver impact.
You will be a collaborative leader with demonstrated success in managing a significant program of major partners and brands. Strategic and creative thinking, commercial acumen, attention to detail, effective communication is essential, along with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, negotiate contracts, and drive towards clarity, solutions and outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or fundraising is desirable.
