About the role
Workways Australia Ltd is seeking applications from suitably qualified people with a passion for making a positive social impact in our community to become Non-Executive Directors of the organisation.
Workways Australia Ltd is a not-for-profit charitable organisation. Established in 1989 for the principal purpose of promoting the relief of poverty, distress or misfortune of individuals who are experiencing long term unemployment and other significant social disadvantages, Workways provides programs to assist individuals to obtain and retain employment, or to proceed to further education and training.
With its head office in Bairnsdale, Victoria, Workways is a provider of employment services, disability employment services, environmental services and complementary programs in Victoria, ACT, NSW and Queensland.
Applicants for Director positions are required to have a range of competencies related to the skills identified by the Board, and personal attributes that enable effective contribution to the duties and obligations of the Board. A strong understanding of corporate governance including legal, ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities is essential. Workways Australia Ltd Directors also serve on the Board’s Controlled Entity: EnviTE Inc.
Workways’ Non-Executive Directors demonstrate strong diplomatic skills and personal qualities of integrity, credibility and a passion for making a difference in the communities we service.
Directors are required to:
- Become a Member of Workways Australia Ltd.
- Complete a Declaration that they are eligible to serve as a company director.
- Complete a National Police History Check.
