About the role
Positions available statewide.
Your role:
- Provide counselling to students
- Regularly liaise with teachers, vice principals and principals
- Conduct parent interviews to gain information, explain concerns and encourage active involvement
- Provide students with opportunities to actively participate in establishing goals relevant to interventions and make appropriate referrals to external sources if required.
What you bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience and training in student or children’s counselling, including an understanding of the impact of family violence on women, children, men and family functioning
- Demonstrated experience in exercising considerable initiative, discretion and professional judgement and accept personal responsibility within the full scope of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline, post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration
