People and Culture Advisor

About the role: 

The People & Culture Advisor enables an exceptional employee experience through outstanding service delivery to the organisation. Operating as part of a generalist HR team, the People & Culture Advisor managers our essential People & Culture practices including recruitment, onboarding and payroll coordination. Additionally, the role supports the P&C team on a range of projects to enable Compassion to attract, develop and retain talent, and deliver on strategy.
With a focus on employee experience and continuous improvement, you will provide effective and timely service delivery to managers and employees including responding to general queries, providing advice to managers and employees about policies and guidelines, reporting, project and administrative support. You will also oversee the coordination of payroll, and coordinate our end to end recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes. In short, you are the linchpin that helps our team work effectively together.

Key Accountabilities:

• Provide effective and timely HR service delivery to managers and employees ensuring accurate and up to date HR information is available.
• Manage the end to end recruitment, induction and onboarding of employees.
• Maintain, prepare and coordinate payroll and associated compliance activities for employees
• Provide consultation and advice to managers and employees about HR policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Develop internal HR communication pieces.
• Develop, maintain and monitor HR metrics that report on the effectiveness of people initiatives.
• Participate in the development of HR strategy and projects.
• Maintain electronic and hardcopy employee files ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and compliance with legislative requirements.
• Provide administration support to HR Manager
• Other HR duties as required.

Job Specific Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications, Experience:

• Strong advisory, consultation and influencing skills
• Strong business writing skills (policy, procedures, management briefings, reports etc.)
• Ability to analyse and assess metrics and information for trends and develop plans to address
• Highly developed time management and attention to detail
• Highly developed administrative skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with internal customers and key stakeholders
• HR generalist knowledge
• Understanding of Employee Relations legislation
• Exposure to HR Information Systems
• Experience working with staff at all levels
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
