About the organisation
Unique and well run, this long-established NFP provides essential support to people who care for - or
about - individuals with mental illness or psychosocial disability.
In recent times, it has grown significantly. Evolving organically, the organisation has doubled in size in
the past three years, attained greater maturity and taken positive steps to strengthen its governance
and enhance its credence in the marketplace.
About the role
Experienced Director, strong in non-profit Governance and growth, to engage with carerfocused business long term
• Generally one meeting per month + Committee involvement
• Brisbane based, growing, well regarded NFP
Seeking an experienced, committed non-executive director whose track record demonstrates an ability to help take a rapidly growing organisation to its next level.
To ensure that the impending transition to the next level can be achieved seamlessly, this non-profit is
now seeking the commitment of an experienced Board Member – a candidate who ideally brings
exemplary governance skills and former success in helping guide an emergent business from its base
level to a higher plane.
As the successful candidate, it’s envisaged that along with strong governance, you’ll also bring change,
risk and financial expertise, gained on Boards and/or Committees or in senior executive roles, in both
non-profit and commercial business.
Your proven ability as a visionary who can plot a future course, help gently effect change, ride rapid
growth and endorse a customer-centric culture will be well appreciated.
Lived experience of mental ill-health is not a pre-requisite of this directorship, but any knowledge or
experience as a carer for someone with mental health issues will be valued.
