Reporting into the Director Children, Youth and Families, the role will focus on leading and operationally managing the Children, Youth and Families (CYF) planning, business development, risk management, compliance, cultural frameworks and operational support for the CYF group.  The role will advise the Director CYF on these matters and will be instrumental in implementing the Board’s vision and strategy for CYF services through transformational change and development.  As an integral member of the senior leadership team, you will ensure activities are closely aligned with the strategic direction of, and consistent with the mission and values of Churches of Christ in Queensland.

To be successful in this role:

  • You will be a skilled professional with a discipline in psychology or social work and have currency of practice and the ability to conduct panel interviews and high level professional supervision. You will also be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the child protection system within Queensland or similar jurisdictions. You will be known for managing and enabling a culture of continual improvement of performance capabilities within your teams, technical and or clinical excellence, and drive management excellence for both current and emerging leaders.
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you have led organisational change and driven the operationalisation of strategy to drive service delivery excellence within a human services environment.
  • A collaborative leader, you will bring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to partner and build relationships at all levels both internally and externally , and with those that are geographically dispersed. Your innovative and contemporary leadership will inspire and empower a growth mindset and a passion for delivering positive community and individual outcomes.  You will lead engagement with the relevant government departments, peak body forums and the broader community to help shape policy and progress organisational agenda and position Churches of Christ Queensland as a thought and performance leader.
  • With highly developed financial and risk management capabilities, you will take responsibility for driving the clinical governance and compliance frameworks. You will have an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and maximising funding opportunities to ensure commercial viability and long-term sustainability of high-quality and effective Children, Youth and Family Services.

You will also be required to hold or have the ability to acquire a Working with Children (Blue Card); Licensed Care Service (Child Protection); National Personal Insolvency Check; a current Influenza Vaccination and a Current driver’s licence.  Periodic travel inter/intrastate is also a requirement of the role.
